The effect of on- and off-road cycle paths on cycling to work: A study using administrative data

ObjectivesPromoting cycling as a means of transport is now on multiple policy agendas, including health, and climate change. In this work, we use administrative data to explore whether cycle paths, particularly off road compared road, might increase the proportion people choosing work.
 MethodsOur work used from Edinburgh Glasgow, Scotland in 2011 at time population census. We limited our those aged 16–74 with current job night Cycle route were made computer readable maps looked characteristics who cycled how proximity path differed between groups. logistic regression model commuting against distance home nearest adjusting for confounders identified using Directed Acyclic Graph.
